Uptown, TX
Custom Carpentry, Cabinetry & Finish Work in Uptown, TX
Innovations Carpentry serves Uptown Dallas with custom carpentry, cabinetry, finish and trim work, stairs, millwork, and door work for homes across the district. Uptown is one of the densest, most walkable parts of Dallas, a mix of high-rise condos, mid-rise apartments, and historic rowhomes and townhomes, so much of our work here is kitchen and bath cabinetry in condos, custom closets and built-ins, and stair and railing upgrades in multi-level units.
Our shop sits west in Arlington, but Uptown is inside our regular delivery and install loop. Because most projects are pre-built in the shop and delivered, we keep the elevator, parking, and loading-dock friction of high-rise buildings to a minimum and limit build time and dust in your home. The approach stays the same whether it is a tower condo or a State-Thomas townhome: quality materials, clean joints, and work that fits the space.
Our carpentry services in Uptown, TX include:
- Custom Carpentry — built-ins, closets, home-office walls, and pantry shelving built to the room.
- Custom Cabinets — kitchen, bath, and storage cabinetry built and installed to fit the space.
- Finish & Trim Carpentry — crown molding, baseboards, casing, wainscoting, and trim detail.
- Stair Work — stair and railing upgrades, tread and riser replacement, and curved or returned geometry.
- Millwork — custom moldings, accent paneling, coffered ceilings, fireplace surrounds, and mantels.
- Doors & Windows — custom door fabrication and interior door and window trim.

History of Uptown Dallas Homes
Uptown sits just north of downtown Dallas, on land that was once a streetcar-era residential district of the late 1800s and early 1900s. The State-Thomas area within Uptown still holds some of the city’s oldest surviving Victorian homes, preserved as a historic district. Through the mid-twentieth century the area declined as commerce moved elsewhere, and much of it turned to light industrial and warehouse use.
Beginning in the 1990s, Uptown was revitalized into one of Dallas’s most sought-after urban neighborhoods, blending restored historic homes with new high-rise residential and mixed-use development. The restored McKinney Avenue Trolley, the free M-Line, still runs vintage streetcars through the heart of the district, linking it to downtown and the Arts District. Uptown is a neighborhood of the city of Dallas, in Dallas County, immediately north of the central business district.

Cedar Springs Road and Maple Avenue run along the western side toward Oak Lawn and the Medical District, lined with the residential and commercial mix that defines that edge.

Why Work With Innovations Carpentry in Uptown, TX
Uptown homeowners are often working in high-rise condos and historic townhomes where access, fit, and finish all matter, and they expect work that holds up and looks intentional. We build to that standard, and our shop-first approach is well suited to buildings where on-site fabrication would mean noise, dust, and tied-up elevators. We are a workshop, not a sub-contractor pass-through or a big-box installer, and we run our projects like a workshop should: shop pre-fabrication, the same crew from quote to install, and a finish that fits the space.
Beyond Uptown, we also serve nearby communities including Dallas, Highland Park, and Lakewood. See our full service area for every city we cover.
